Quick-Pickled Cucumber Salad

Ingredients
½ cup rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon dry ground red pepper flakes
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
3 1/4-inch thick red onion slices, cut into rings
1 English cucumber, cut into 1/8-inch thick slices
3 sprigs of fresh dill
To make
Rice vinegar, sugar and salt are the main ingredients for making this quick and easy pickle.
Combine the first 5 ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-high heat; bring to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat; let stand for 20 minutes or until cool.Fold the onion slices, cucumbers, and dill sprigs into a large zippered plastic bag; add the vinegar mixture and close the bag. Put the bag in the refrigerator for 1 hour, turning it over periodically.
