6 ¾ ounces all-purpose flour (approximately 1 1/2 cups)
⅓ cup packed dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
⅛ a teaspoon of ground cloves
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
⅓ cup low-fat buttermilk
¼ cup melted butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 cup dried apple slices, coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon powdered sugar (optional)

If you're an apple lover, look no further for dessert than this delicious cake recipe. This apple pie, cooked in a slow cooker for just 1 to 1/2 hours, becomes the perfect, mouth-watering treat.
Brush a 5-liter round electric slow cooker with cooking spray. Cover the bottom of the slow cooker with parchment paper. Place 2 strips of parchment paper (30 inches long) in an X shape under the parchment paper in the slow cooker. Brush the parchment with cooking spray.Spoon the flour into dry measuring cups; flatten with a knife. Combine the flour, brown sugar, and the following 6 ingredients (including cloves) in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk. Combine applesauce and the following 4 ingredients (with egg) in a small bowl. Add the applesauce to the flour mixture, stirring until smooth. Add the dried apple.Pour the batter into the prepared slow cooker, spreading evenly. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until fluffy, when a wooden stick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cut into slices. If desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
