Greek Steak Pitas with Dill Sauce

Ingredients

Sauce:
½ cup plain low-fat yogurt
2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
Steak:
½ cup fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (1 pound) steak, cut off
Cooking Spray
4 (6-inch) pitas, cut in half
4 romaine lettuce leaves, cut in half
¼ cup (1 oz) shredded feta cheese

To make

The lemon juice marinade quickly soaks the steak, so a 10-minute exposure is enough to add flavor to the meat. Instead of feta, you can substitute shredded goat cheese or cheese with mold.
Cook on the grill or in a broiler. To make the sauce, mix the first 5 ingredients, stirring with a whisk. To prepare the steak, combine the juice and the following 4 ingredients (juice through the steak) in a large zippered plastic bag; seal. Marinate in the refrigerator for 10 minutes, turning once. Remove steak from bag; drain marinade.Place the steak on a grill rack or broiler tray greased with cooking spray; cook for 6 minutes on each side or until desired browning. Let stand for 5 minutes. Slice the steak diagonally across the fibers in thin slices. Place 1 half of a lettuce leaf on each half of the pita bread. Spread the steak evenly over the pita bread halves. Add 1 tablespoon of the sauce and 1 1/2 teaspoons of the cheese to each half of the pita bread.
