1 ¼ cups granulated sugar, divided
½ cup milk, room temperature
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup tightly packed light brown sugar
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
1 ½ cups boiling water

Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.Chocolate Cherry Pudding: Defrost 1 pack (12 oz) of frozen dark sweet pitted cherries; strain. Dry the cherries with paper towels.
