½ cup iced water
1 ½ teaspoons sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
4 ½ tablespoons chopped vegetables

3 ½ tablespoons cornstarch
⅛ a teaspoon of salt
6 cups fresh blueberries
1 ½ tablespoons butter or melted margarine
¾ teaspoon vanilla extract

To make

Looking for a delicious way to use up your blueberry crop? This is the end of your search. This classic trellis pie is everything a blueberry dessert should be: bright, simple, and incredibly delicious. It's important to note that this 6-ingredient filling is slightly runny — and that's what we love about it. The gooey, decadent fruit mix resembles a warm blueberry sauce that can be drizzled over pancakes, waffles, or even ice cream (we definitely recommend serving a slice of this cake with a vanilla ball). Need a little help perfecting your weaving? We have prepared for you our guide to making a blueberry pie cake with a lattice filling.
To make the cake, lightly pour the flour into dry measuring cups; flatten with a knife. Combine 1/4 cup flour and iced water, stirring with a whisk, until smooth. Combine 1 1/4 cups flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a bowl; blend with a baking blender or 2 knives until the mixture resembles coarse flour. Add the gruel; stir with a fork until the flour mixture is moist. Gently squeeze two-thirds of the dough into a 4-inch circle on thick plastic wrap; cover with extra plastic wrap. Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle. Squeeze the remaining dough into a 4-inch circle on thick plastic wrap; cover with extra plastic wrap. Roll out the dough into a 9-inch circle. Freeze both portions of the dough for 10 minutes. As you work through most of the dough, remove 1 sheet of plastic wrap; place the dough on a 9-inch pie dish smeared with cooking spray. Remove the top sheet of plastic wrap.To make the filling, combine 3/4 cup, 3 tablespoons sugar, cornstarch, and 1/8 teaspoon salt in a bowl and sprinkle with the blueberries. Stir gently. Add the butter and vanilla. Spoon the blueberry mixture onto the cake.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.Remove the top layer of plastic wrap from the remaining dough. Cut the dough into 6 strips (1 1/2 inches thick). Carefully remove the dough strips from the bottom sheet of plastic wrap; arrange in a grid pattern on top of the blueberry mixture. Glue the dough strips to the edge of the cake. Place the cake on a baking sheet lined with foil. Sprinkle the wire rack with 1 tablespoon of sugar.Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the crust is lightly browned and the filling begins to bubble. Cool on a wire rack.
