Lemon Vodka

Ingredients
2 lemons
1 bottle (750 ml) of vodka
To make
You can make this infusion with almost any combination of citrus and liqueur, but this one is one of our favorites. Even better: you don't need top - quality alcohol; the main thing is to use something soft and neutral in taste. Try the infusion with ice or as part of your favorite cocktails. (Note: Delivery of spirits is prohibited in the United States)
Remove the zest from the lemons with a peeler and save the fruit for another use. Place the zest in a 1-quart glass jar.* or a decorative bottle. Pour in the vodka (through the funnel if the bottle has a narrow opening).Close the jar tightly and store in a cool, dark place for 1 week.Cool the vodka and serve cold; it will turn the color of the peel, gradually increase the taste and become a little cloudy.* You can use a smaller bottle, but the infusion will be stronger, so taste it from time to time and remove the zest when the liquor becomes what you want.Preparation: for 3 months (1 year, filtered), chilled.Bottle capacity: 34 oz. Sealed bottle of Giara, $ 99; containerstore.com
