Bookmark this page

Ingredients
2 large garlic cloves
2 cups chopped swiss chard leaves
½ cup chopped walnuts
¼ cup fresh grated parmesan cheese, plus parmesan cheese, minced with a vegetable peeler
¼ cup flat-leaved parsley leaves
¼ cup olive oil
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
6 ounces angel hair wholegrain pasta, prepared as directed on the package
To make
Using fresh chard leaves instead of the usual basil is a great way to enjoy the classic sauce all year round. You can also try sprinkling pesto spoons on pieces of browned polenta instead of pasta.
Chop the garlic in a food processor. Add the chard, walnuts, grated parmesan and parsley; whisk until finely chopped. Clean the inside of the bowl. Add the butter, salt and pepper and beat until smooth. Serve with pasta and grated parmesan cheese.Note: A nutritional analysis is provided for each serving.
