Basic Brown Sauce

Ingredients
¼ cup butter or margarine
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 cups basic brown broth
⅛ a teaspoon of salt
⅛ a teaspoon of pepper
To make
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan; add the flour and mix well. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is lightly browned. Gradually add the main brown stock; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbles form. Season with salt and pepper. Serve the sauce hot with roast beef or steak.
