Blood Orange Sangría
Bookmark this page

Ingredients
2 cups chopped strawberries
2 cups apple juice
⅔ cup of Triple Sec (orange-flavored liqueur)
½ cup sugar
4 whole cloves
3 pitted blood oranges, each cut into 16 slices
2 750 ml fruit red wine bottles
2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
1 lemon, cut into 8 slices
1 lime, cut into 8 slices
To make
Any high-quality fruit red wine goes well with this cold drink; the combination of pinot noir and Beaujolais is especially good. The scarlet flesh of blood oranges (the season of which begins in December) is beautiful. But if they are not available, replace them with oranges with pimples.
Combine all the ingredients in a large jug and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Avoid cloves and cinnamon sticks. Pour the sangria into the glasses, including the fruit.
