Ingredients
Cooking Spray
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 pound shredded chicken breast
¾ cup ready-made pizza sauce
¼ teaspoon ground red pepper flakes
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
1 can chilled pizza dough (13.8 oz)
½ cup (2 oz) grated partially low-fat mozzarella cheese
To make
Ground chicken breast is a low-fat alternative to beef. If you prefer, replace the sirloin with minced meat.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Brush the mold with cooking spray. Add the garlic and chicken to the pan; simmer for 5 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink, stirring until it crumbles. Add the pizza sauce and pepper. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; add basil. Let stand for 10 minutes.Roll out the dough on a baking sheet covered with cooking spray; cut the dough into quarters. Place each serving in an 8-inch x 6-inch rectangle. Spread the chicken mass evenly over the rectangles; sprinkle each serving with 2 tablespoons of cheese. Working one rectangle at a time, fold the dough in half on top of the filling, pinching the edges to seal. Repeat the procedure with the remaining rectangles. Bake at 425 ° C for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
