Cooking Spray
1/4 cup (approximately 5 3/4 oz.) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ cup (4 oz) melted unsalted butter
½ cup light brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
1 ½ cups mashed ripe bananas (from 2 bananas)
2 large eggs
½ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted and chilled
¾ cup bittersweet chocolate chips

To make

You know and love banana bread — now it's time to get acquainted with the best banana bread option, it's also the best way to use old, overripe bananas. Our banana bread with chocolate chips is very moist thanks to a special ingredient: sour cream. Meanwhile, the chocolate chips add extra tenderness and texture to the dish. This super-simple comfort food is perfect for breakfast, tea, dessert, or any other time you want to grab a bite.
Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a baking dish with parchment paper and brush with cooking spray.Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.Combine the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar with a wooden spoon in a separate bowl until thickened and a paste forms. Add the banana puree, eggs, sour cream and vanilla to the butter mixture, stirring until smooth.Mix flour mixture with banana mixture. After mixing, add the nuts and chocolate chips. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking pans. Bake in the preheated oven until the toothpick is almost clean (moist but not soggy), 45 to 55 minutes for 2 loaves, or 1 hour to 1 15 minutes for 1 loaf. Cool completely in a large skillet.
