Ingredients

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups skimmed milk
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg yolk
1 large egg white
1 tablespoon sugar
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Serve chocolate chip waffles for a delicious breakfast that is perfect for festive occasions, starting on Mother's Day and ending on Christmas morning. These chocolate chip waffles taste even better with vanilla ice cream and chocolate mini chips.
Brush the waffle iron with cooking spray and reheat.Lightly pour the flour into dry measuring cups; smooth with a knife. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Combine the milk, butter, vanilla, and egg yolk in a bowl; whisk to combine. Add to the flour mixture, stirring until smooth. Beat the egg white and sugar with a mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Roll in the flour mixture. Roll in crumbs.Place approximately 1/2 cup of batter on a hot waffle iron, spreading the batter around the edges. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until tender; repeat with remaining batter.
