Chocolate Crackle Cookies

Ingredients
½ cup Crisco®Vegetable shortening
or
½ Crisco® baking sticks with vegetable filling
1 ⅔ cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 (1 oz) squares of melted unsweetened chocolate for baking
2 large eggs
2 cups Pillsbury BEST ® all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
⅓ a glass of milk
¾ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Original Crisco®non-stick cooking spray
Powdered sugar
To make
BEAT the shortening, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add the cooled chocolate and eggs.COMBINE flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to the whipping mixture, alternately adding milk. Add nuts if desired. Cover and refrigerate for about 3 hours or overnight.PREHEAT the oven to 350ºF. Brush a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Form the dough into 1-inch-thick balls. Roll in powdered sugar to coat completely. Place on the prepared baking sheet, 2 inches apart.BAKE for 13 to 15 minutes or until the cookies are set. Cool on a baking sheet for 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
