Frankenstein Cookies

Ingredients

1 pack (16 oz) of ready-to-bake sugar cookie dough
green food coloring
chocolate topping
candy eyes
corn candy bars
1 black icing pen

To make

Starting with store-bought chilled cookie dough, this Cooking Frankenstein cookie is a simple Halloween baking project to make this year. However, the cookie dough in the package is prepared for spreading, so if you prefer that your Frankenstein cookies have rectangular or otherwise shaped faces (unlike these round cakes), you can use the classic cookie dough with cutouts, which will better retain its shape. Use the same method to color the dough, and then simply cut it into the desired shapes (by hand or using rectangular cookie cutters). In the recipe below, we've listed the recommended way to decorate your Frankenstein cookies, but definitely feel free to create and decorate these delicious little monsters any way you want. If you prefer, you can bake the green cookies as usual and decorate as you like, using only the icing handles once it cools down. Keep in mind — it's okay if it gets a little sloppy, after all, these are chandeliers.
Place the cookie dough in a medium bowl; add the green food coloring drops until the desired shade of green is obtained. Roll out the cookies in even portions and freeze for 30 minutes.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.Arrange the cooled dough portions at least 2 inches apart on baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350 ° C for 6 minutes. Remove the cookies from the oven; gently sprinkle chocolate chips on the top of each cookie to create " Frankenstein's hair." Return the cookies to the oven, turning the baking sheets as you do so. Bake for another 7-9 minutes or until the cookies start to harden around the edges.Remove from the oven; immediately top each cookie with 2 lollipop eyes and 2 pieces of corn candy for the Frankenstein "eyes” and "bolts" while the cookies are still warm. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes; transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. When the cookies are completely cool, draw a neck on each cookie and finish decorating as desired with a black frosting pen.
