Grilled Chicken With White Barbecue Sauce
Bookmark this page

Ingredients
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
10 chicken thighs (about 3 pounds)*
White barbecue sauce
To make
Instead of covering your grilled chicken with a sweet tomato-based barbecue sauce, try this spicy white sauce based on southern-style mayonnaise, and you may never go back to red dishes.
Mix the first 7 ingredients together. Wash and dry the chicken; rub the mixture evenly over the chicken. Place the chicken in a zippered plastic freezer bag. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours. Remove the chicken from the bag, discarding the bag.Grill, covered, over medium-high heat (350 ° to 400 °) for 8-10 minutes on each side, or until the meat thermometer inserted in the thickest part shows 180 °. Serve with white barbecue sauce.* Chicken thighs can be replaced with 4 quarters of chicken legs (about 3 pounds). Increase the cooking time to 20-25 minutes per side.
