Grilled Kielbasa and Onion Sandwiches

1 pound whole smoked kielbasa
4 6-inch crispy rolls
2 onions, cut into 1/2-inch thick slices

To make a very quick and easy weeknight meal, serve grilled kielbasa and onion sandwiches drizzled with your favorite barbecue sauce.
Preheat a gas grill to medium-high heat. Cut the kielbasa into 4 pieces and cut each lengthwise in half.Divide the rolls and grill, cut sides down, until a light crust forms. Remove and set aside.Saute the onion, turning it once, until it is browned and tender, about 6 minutes in total. Transfer to a bowl and drizzle with the barbecue sauce.Grill the sausages, turning them over once, until they are hot and lightly browned on the grill, just 3-4 minutes. Place the onions and sausages on the rolls and serve immediately, with a drizzle of barbecue sauce if desired.
