Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 1/2 cup of butter at room temperature
1 1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
4 1/3 cups of flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips, or chopped chocolate bars
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

To make

These easy cookies are delicious served with cold milk when they are fresh out of the oven. The dough is very thick, so use a stand mixer if possible.

Preheat your oven to 350°f/175°c

  1. Mix the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla together until it is combined and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add the eggs, mixing well after each egg is added.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt
  4. Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stir until well combined.
  5. Mix in chocolate pieces and walnuts if you want.
  6. Refrigerate the dough 30 minutes- a few hours until it thickens.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a buttered baking sheet, about 3 inches/7 cm apart
  8. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from baking sheet and allow to cool.
