These easy cookies are delicious served with cold milk when they are fresh out of the oven. The dough is very thick, so use a stand mixer if possible.

- Mix the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla together until it is combined and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add the eggs, mixing well after each egg is added.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt
- Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stir until well combined.
- Mix in chocolate pieces and walnuts if you want.
- Refrigerate the dough 30 minutes- a few hours until it thickens.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a buttered baking sheet, about 3 inches/7 cm apart
- Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from baking sheet and allow to cool.
