These delicious burgers for the whole family are best eaten with a knife and fork. If you want no buns, serve with spaghetti and extra sauce. We enjoyed them with a side dish of pasta salad.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.Bake the rolls according to the instructions on the package. Split buns.Remove the shell from the sausage. Combine the sausage, chopped basil, and the following 5 ingredients (via ground beef) in a medium bowl. Divide the meat mixture with wet hands into 6 equal portions, forming each into a 1/2-inch thick patty. Press your thumb into the middle of each patty, leaving a dime-sized indentation.Place the patties on a grate greased with cooking spray; cook for 6 minutes. Turn the patties over; cook on the grill for 2 minutes. Sprinkle the cutlets evenly with cheese and cook on the grill for 6 minutes or until the thermometer reads 160 °. Remove from the grill; let stand for 5 minutes.Place 1 basil leaf on the bottom half of each roll; top each with 1 patty, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce, and roll into a roll.
