Ingredients
Pesto:
3 cups fresh basil, packed
1 cup fresh parsley
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper

1 pound gemelli or other short pasta
1 cup plain 2 percent greek yogurt
2 pints cherry tomatoes or grapes, halved

They turn out to be light, but delicious and are prepared quickly, besides they do not require much warming up. Adding a simple homemade pesto to a pasta salad makes it more than just a side dish for a picnic or barbecue. Whether you need to add a little basil or just want to try a classic dish, this pasta salad with pesto will appeal to everyone.
Prepare the pesto: In a food processor, combine the basil, parsley, garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and pine nuts until smooth. With the engine running, add the olive oil and stir until a thick paste forms. Add the parmesan cheese and whisk twice. Season with salt and pepper if desired.Preparation of the salad: Prepare the pasta according to the instructions on the package until al dente. Drain and cover with cold water to stop cooking.In a large bowl, combine the pesto and Greek yogurt and mix well. Add the cold pasta and stir to coat with the dressing. Top with tomatoes. Serve the salad at room temperature, or cover and refrigerate to serve chilled.
