1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder
¾ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 stick (1/4 pound) melted unsalted butter
1 can pineapple slices (20 oz), squeezed

Preheat the oven to 375°F. In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, milk, and vanilla extract; mix until the mixture forms a smooth dough. Gently drizzle with butter.Spread the dough evenly in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish (this will be a very thin layer) and spread the pineapple slices evenly over the dough.Bake until the pineapple sinks to the bottom of the pan and the top is fluffy, golden brown and slightly springy when touched in the middle, 25 minutes. Let the cake cool slightly, then serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
