Banana bread

1/3 cup or 6.5 tablespoons or 3.25 ounces of butter, at room temperature
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 ¾ cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup chopped nuts
1 ½ cup ripe bananas

To make

This easy banana bread is the perfect way to use up bananas that have become brown and are no good for eating raw. The browner the bananas, the sweeter the bread. This recipe is good for a simple breakfast or dessert.

Cream the butter and the sugar until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. In a separate bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Add flour mixture alternatively with bananas into the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour mixture into a bread loaf pan, or small muffin pan if preferred.

Bake at 350 f for 40-45 minutes (bread pan) or 15-20 minutes (muffin pan), or until skewer inserted into middle of bread comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes and then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
