Ingredients

4 teaspoons cornstarch, divided
5 ½ tablespoons divided soy sauce
1 pound boneless lean pork chops, cut into thin strips
1 cup raw long grain rice
¼ cup water
4 teaspoons hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon peanut butter
½ (8 oz) pack chopped fresh mushrooms
4 chopped green onions
1 can sliced water chestnuts (8 oz), dried
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger
½ teaspoon dry ground red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
Garnish: chopped green onion, orange slices

To make

Pork in garlic sauce is an Asian-style dinner that is perfectly served with rice and a side dish of fresh green onions. Add a green salad to the dish.
Combine 2 teaspoons cornstarch and 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce in a medium bowl until smooth. Add the pork and stir to coat. Let stand for 15 minutes.Cook the rice according to the instructions on the package. Keep warm.Combine remaining 2 teaspoons cornstarch, remaining 4 tablespoons soy sauce, 1/4 cup water, and 4 teaspoons hoisin sauce.Heat the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Add the pork mixture and cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes or until the pork is lightly browned. Add the mushrooms and the next 5 ingredients; cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Add the hoisin sauce mixture and stir-fry for 1 minute or until thickened. Add the orange juice. Serve with warm rice. Decorate if desired.
