Rhubarb Liqueur
Bookmark this page

Ingredients
6 tablespoons sugar
¼ cup water
1 ½ pounds coarsely chopped rhubarb
3 cups vodka
½ cup Grand Marnier or other orange-flavored liqueur
To make
Try the spring sweetness with this homemade rhubarb liqueur. Flavored with sugar, vodka, Grand Marnier and, of course, fresh rhubarb, this seasonal drink is perfectly served with seltzer water or pure ice.
Bring the sugar and water to a boil in a small saucepan, stirring until the sugar is dissolved; remove from the heat. Cool. Place the coarsely chopped rhubarb in a wide-necked jar. Add vodka, Grand Marnier and chilled sugar syrup; stir to combine. Tighten the lid tightly; let it sit at room temperature for 2-3 weeks or until all the color disappears from the rhubarb. Strain the mixture through a sieve into a bowl; remove any dry residue.
