Seared Tuna with Avocado Salsa

Ingredients

1 cup halved grape tomatoes
½ cup vertically sliced red onion
3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
.38 teaspoons of salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 avocados, peeled and diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 jalapeno pepper, peeled and finely chopped
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
Cooking Spray
4 tuna steaks (6 oz each)

To make

Eco-friendly choice. Before frying tuna, be sure to preheat the pan until golden brown - this way you will get a thick crust without overcooking the insides. Pay attention to yellowfin tuna caught using the "troll" or "rod-and-line" method.
Combine the first 9 ingredients in a medium bowl.Combine soy sauce and brown sugar in a small bowl, stirring until the brown sugar is dissolved. Leave out 1 tablespoon of the soy sauce mixture. Preheat a grill pan over high heat. Brush the pan evenly with cooking spray. Transfer the steaks to the skillet; cook for 2 minutes on each side or until desired browning, drizzling the soy mixture frequently over the steaks. Remove the steaks from the grill pan; drizzle with the remaining 1 tablespoon soy mixture. Serve the fish with salsa.
