Slow-Cooker Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and Apples

Ingredients
8 links to sausages
1 pack of 16-ounce sauerkraut, rinsed and dried
2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 tablespoon cumin seeds
½ cup mustard
8 hot dog buns
To make
Simmer the sausages in a slow cooker along with sauerkraut, apple, mustard and brown sugar to give the sausages a rich taste. Serve with scones for a hearty main course.
Put the sausage pieces in a slow cooker and sprinkle sauerkraut, apples and onions on top. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cumin. Cover and cook over low heat until the sausages reach 165F according to the instant thermometer, 3 to 4 hours.Spread 1 tablespoon mustard on each hot dog bun. Spread some sauerkraut mixture on the buns, top each with a sausage, and serve.
