Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Ingredients
12 oz ground beef
8 oz champignons, finely chopped
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 28-ounce can of tomato puree
1 cup low-sodium beef broth
2 tablespoons italian seasoning
1 bay leaf

Homemade spaghetti sauce doesn't have to be stewed all day on the stove to make it delicious. Try our recipe for making spaghetti with meat sauce with simple ingredients that will be ready for the table in an hour.
Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until it starts to brown, about 5 minutes. If necessary, drain all the fat except 1 tablespoon. Add the mushrooms, onion and garlic; saute for 5 minutes. Add the tomato puree, broth, Italian seasoning, bay leaf, and 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper each. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring frequently.Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until al dente, about 10 minutes or as directed on the package. Remove the bay leaf from the sauce and season with salt and pepper, if desired. Pour the sauce over the spaghetti, toss, and serve.
