Ancho-Citrus Marinade

Ingredients

½ bunch green onion, finely chopped (about 1 cup)
¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
¼ cup canola oil
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice (from 2 limes)
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons amber agave nectar
2 tablespoons ancho chili powder
1 tablespoon chipotle chili powder
½ tablespoon chopped fresh oregano

To make

This smoky-sweet marinade is a Latin American version of our "Master Marinade". We found it to be exceptionally delicious for chicken, but it goes well with a wide range of proteins. Seasoned with fresh citrus juice and ground chili pepper (ancho and chipotle), this marinade is easy to prepare and offers familiar flavors, but it's sure to impress. This marinade, which has such a bright taste, is the beginning of cooking really “something special”.
1. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl, stirring with a whisk. Use as desired for marinating poultry, meat or vegetables.
