Apricot Glaze

Ingredients
1 can apricot jam (10 oz.)
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup water
1 tablespoon rum or brandy
To make
Combine the first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan over low heat; cook, stirring occasionally, until smooth. Remove from heat. Add the rum; strain through a fine mesh sieve. Cool and serve on top of the cheesecake slices.Cherry frosting: Replace apricot jam with cherry jam; do not strain before serving.
