Bookmark this page

Ingredients
1 pound fresh beans (tiny green beans)
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
½ teaspoon dry ground red pepper flakes
1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
½ medium-sized sweet onion, sliced
1 teaspoon peanut butter
¾ teaspoon seasoned salt
To make
From Marie Lappin's Kitchen, Carmel, IN THE SECTION " When I serve this irresistible dish, I never have to persuade my family to eat vegetables."
Boil the bean tops in boiling salted water, covered, for 1 minute; drain. Dip the green beans in ice water to stop the cooking process; dry well by wringing them out between paper towels. Combine brown sugar, soy sauce, and dried crushed red pepper flakes. Saute the bell pepper, onion, and green beans in the heated peanut butter in a large skillet over high heat for 3-5 minutes or until the beans are bubbling. Sprinkle with seasoned salt. Remove from the heat; add the soy sauce mixture to the green bean mixture and stir to coat.
