Chocolate Chip Walnut Pie

Ingredients

1 chilled 9-inch single-crust cake batter (1/2 15-ounce package), room temperature
½ cup (1/4 pound) melted butter or margarine
2 large eggs
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup thickly packed brown sugar
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 cup (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
Vanilla ice cream (optional)

To make

Ann Beck prepared this delicious pie for sale at her former ice cream shop and deli. It tastes like chocolate chip cookies and is especially good when warm. Cooking time: 40 to 55 minutes.
Roll out the dough in a circle and place evenly in a 9-inch-diameter pie dish.In a large bowl, whisk together the butter, eggs, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the flour and mix well. Add the chocolate chips and nuts.Pour the chocolate chip filling into the batter.Bake on the lowest rack in the oven at 325 ° C until the top has a thick golden brown crust, 40 to 45 minutes (about 30 minutes in a convection oven). Cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes. Serve warm or chilled, sliced, with ice cream.Note: A nutritional analysis is provided for each serving.
