Cinnamon Stewed Apples
Bookmark this page

Ingredients
6 cups chopped peeled Granny Smith Apples (about 2 pounds)
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup apple juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
⅛ 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
⅛ a teaspoon of salt
To make
This cinnamon apple stew recipe, which can be easily doubled, will make a great addition to ham or pork and will keep in the refrigerator for about a week. The sauce turns out a little runny immediately after cooking, but when infused, it will thicken.
Combine all the ingredients in a large heavy saucepan. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 45 minutes or until the apples are tender, stirring occasionally. Let stand for 5 minutes.
