Cinnamon-Sugar Doughnut Bites

Ingredients
Vegetable oil
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
⅓ cup granulated sugar
2 ¼ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
1 large egg, beaten
½ cup milk
3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
Garnish: powdered sugar
To make
"Wash down these warm, sweet doughnuts with a little ice-cold chocolate milk. I like to keep the milk in the freezer for about 10 minutes before serving."
Pour the oil 1 1/2 inches deep into a 12-inch cast-iron skillet; preheat to 350 degrees.Whisk together the flour and the next 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Make a well in the center of the mixture; add the egg and the next 2 ingredients until smooth. (The dough should be dry.)Dip the dough evenly in tablespoons, 6-8 at a time, in the preheated oil; fry in batches, turning occasionally, 2 minutes on each side or until browned. Place on a plate covered with a paper towel. Serve warm.
