Cranberry-Maple Syrup

Ingredients
¾ cup pure maple syrup
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, divided
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
To make
Bring the maple syrup and 3/4 cup cranberries to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 3 minutes or until the cranberries open. Chop the cranberries in a saucepan with a spatula. Add the remaining 1/4 cup cranberries; simmer until they start to float (about 2 minutes). Add the butter and stir until it melts.
