Double Cranberry-Apple Sauce

Ingredients

6 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced
1 pack fresh cranberries (12 oz.)
1 small lemon, sliced and pitted
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup water
¾ cup sweetened dried cranberries

To make


Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently.Reduce the heat; simmer, stirring frequently, for 15 minutes or until the cranberries float and the mixture begins to thicken. Remove from the heat and add the sweetened dried cranberries. Cool. Cover and refrigerate until tender before serving.Note: The mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
