Halloween desserts definitely call for a little more fun in the kitchen. This pretty cute, slightly creepy graveyard cake is easy to make, fun to decorate (so enlist the kids ' help), and sure to make the perfect decoration for any Halloween dessert table. Black icing transforms store-bought cookies into miniature tombstones the perfect size for a graveyard cake with chocolate icing. And once you've placed your tombstones, crumble chocolate waffle cookies around each one to make "dirt". Just make sure that each "tombstone" pie matches the portion size that you want it to be easy to slice. Place a few” lanterns " of candles around the chocolate graveyard and you'll have the perfect cake for a Halloween birthday party. The classic chocolate cake recipe we offer is a dessert and wet dessert, but if you don't have much time, feel free to use your favorite cake mix in the package instead. Obviously, it's all about decorating this Halloween-themed treat.

In a separate bowl, combine the cocoa and water; beat with the milk until smooth. Set aside.Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy; scrape off the bowl. Whisk together the eggs and vanilla. Add the flour and cocoa mixture, alternating every 3 times, scraping the bowl (dough may separate slightly).Put the dough on the prepared form. Bake, turning, until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, about 35 minutes. Cool in the pan for 1 hour. Run a knife around the edge of the cake and place on a platter.Finely chop the chocolate chip cookies in a plastic bag with a rolling pin or use a food processor. Cover the top and sides of the cake with chocolate icing and sprinkle generously with cookie crumbs. Cut the top of the cake into 12 equal rectangles.Apply black icing to Milano cookies with "RIP" written on them and other scary words; make a cut in each square to insert Milano or Chessman cookies for tombstones; add lollipops if desired.
