Grilled Oysters with Garlic Butter
Bookmark this page

Ingredients
1 cup (8 oz) softened butter
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh flat-leaved parsley
4 teaspoons finely grated fresh horseradish
2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic (2 garlic cloves)
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon hot sauce
2 dozen oysters in half shells (3-4 inches in diameter)
To make
The salty taste of oysters is further enhanced by the use of super-sweet butter in this recipe. Remove the smoky element from the grill and you'll get a small slice of paradise. Oysters cook incredibly fast, so it's best to let them warm up slightly while the butter melts on the meat.
Preheat the grill to high heat (450 ° F to 500 °F). Combine the butter, parsley, horseradish, garlic, Worcestershire, zest, salt, paprika, and hot sauce in a bowl until smooth. Add about 2 teaspoons of the butter mixture to each oyster. Arrange the oysters in a single layer on a greased wire rack, making sure that the oysters are as even as possible. Cook on the grill, uncovered, until the butter is completely melted and bubbling, about 7 minutes.Carefully remove the oysters from the grill and serve immediately.
