Old-Fashioned Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients
1 tablespoon canola oil
½ cup chopped onion
1 ¼ cups sugar
½ cup water
¼ cup port wine
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
1 pack fresh cranberries (12 oz.)
2 teaspoons grated orange zest
To make
Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the onion and simmer for 4 minutes. Add sugar and the next 4 ingredients (via lingonberries); bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 8 minutes or until the cranberries open. Remove from the heat and add the orange zest.
