Ingredients
2 cups frozen pineapple slices
1 cup orange juice
1 cup vanilla yogurt
¾ cup milk
¼ cup granulated sugar substitute SPLENDA, calorie-free
Garnish: orange slices
To make
This creamy orange-pineapple smoothie will brighten up even the most dreary days with its vibrant tropical and citrus flavors. Sweetening with splenda instead of sugar reduces calories per serving to a minimum.
Grind the frozen pineapple slices and the following 4 ingredients in a blender until smooth, without stopping to scrape off the sides. Garnish if desired; serve immediately.Note: We tested with frozen pineapples in freezer bags, fresh pineapples that we froze in test kitchens, and canned pineapple slices (in juice) that we put in the freezer (you can do anything else). After opening the frozen jar, we let the hot water drain for about 10 seconds, and then use a fork to pull out 2 cups of pineapple. (Tip: Canned pineapples can be frozen for up to 3 months.)
