Ingredients
2 cups very vanilla ice cream or store-bought vanilla ice cream *, slightly softened
2 ½ cups orange sorbet, home-made or store-bought
To make
There's something incredibly satisfying about the way bite after bite pops out of the package to be eaten. This version combines the best of both worlds, bringing the flavor of your favorite ice cream. To prepare them, you will need 8 (4 oz each) spin tins (see on wilton.com ).
Working with one mold at a time, spoon in a few tablespoons. ice cream. Use a thick-handled wooden spoon, pestle, or cocktail mixer to gently tamp the ice cream evenly. Top with a few tablespoons of sorbet; tamp evenly.Repeat the layers, alternating between ice cream and sorbet, until the mold is filled. Cover and freeze. Repeat with the remaining molds and freeze until the flakes are firm, at least 2 hours.* If the ice cream is airy, you may need up to 3 1/2 cups, because it will curdle when measured.Preparation in advance: up to 2 months.
