Ingredients
½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
¼ cup fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon mirin (sweet rice wine)
⅛ a teaspoon of crushed red pepper
To make
Ponzu sauce, a hot sauce based on soy, is traditionally made with citrus fruits and may have been inspired by visitors from Holland in the 17th century. Fresh lemon and orange juices add a citrus touch to this sauce.
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate.
