Pork Chops with Country Gravy and Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

¾ teaspoon salt, divided
4 boneless pork chops (4 ounces each) with loin tenderloin (about 1 inch thick)
1 teaspoon butter
1/4 cup 1% low-fat milk
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon poultry seasoning
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pack of 20-ounce chilled mashed potatoes (such as plain potatoes)

To make

These delicious pork chops are sauteed in butter and then stewed in a homemade rustic sauce until tender. The five-ingredient sauce is perfect for chicken fried in a frying pan or in the oven. They also go great with a turkey sandwich.
Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon salt evenly on both sides of the pork. Add 1 teaspoon of butter to the pan, stirring until the butter melts. Add the pork to the skillet and cook for 3 minutes on each side. Remove the pork from the pan and keep it warm.Combine the low-fat milk and flour, stirring with a whisk. Add the milk mixture to the pan, stirring with a whisk. Add the remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, poultry seasoning, and black pepper. Return the pork to the pan. Cover, reduce the heat and simmer for 7 minutes or until the sauce thickens and the pork is cooked through. While the pork is cooking, cook the potatoes according to the directions on the package. Serve with pork.
