Ingredients
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 ½ cups sugar
¾ cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 ¼ cup milk
Red, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple gel food Coloring products
7 disposable baking pans

Truly taste the rainbow with a colorful 7-layer rainbow cake! Tip: Use liquid gel or food coloring based on gel paste to get a deeper and richer color than its traditional liquid counterpart.
Preheat the oven to 350F. Spray disposable baking pans with non-stick spray.Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.Combine the sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla extract in another bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until the ingredients are smooth.Add half of the flour mixture and half of the milk to the sugar mixture. Mix well. Repeat with the other half of the flour and milk mixture.Spread the dough evenly over 7 bowls. When adding food coloring to each bowl, start with about 1/4 - 1/2 tsp. Add as needed. Pour the cake batter into the prepared molds. Bake in batches of two to three times for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges of the cake are slightly detached from the mold. Allow the cakes to cool completely before frosting.
