Roasted Banana Bars with Browned Butter–Pecan Frosting

2 cups sliced ripe bananas (about 3 medium-sized)

1 tablespoon chilled butter, cut into small pieces
9 oz cake flour (approximately 2 1/4 cups)

¼ cup low-fat buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup softened butter
1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs

Glaze:
¼ cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
⅓ cup (3 oz) 1/3 lower-fat softened cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup chopped pecans, toasted
