Sautéed Spinach with Garlic and Red Pepper
Bookmark this page

Ingredients
¼ cup finely chopped shallots
2 teaspoons olive oil
¼ teaspoon ground red pepper flakes
3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1 9-ounce bag of fresh spinach
To make
The soft taste of spinach is perfectly combined with scalding garlic and spices from crushed red pepper. For maximum flavor, cook the spinach only until it starts to go limp. Stewed spinach can be prepared in a matter of minutes, it is perfectly combined with almost any protein. If you have spinach or any wilted leafy greens left on hand, sautéing with a little olive oil and garlic will instantly spice it up. While frying the aromatics in a cold pan, let them soak in the oil. Garlic is also less likely to burn. For a full meal, serve this vegetarian side dish with chicken and chili hash.
Put the shallots, oil, pepper, and garlic in a large, cold skillet. Heat over medium-high heat for 3 minutes or until the garlic begins to sizzle. Add the spinach; cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until wilted.
