Summer Fig and Watermelon Salad with Feta

Ingredients
2 cups diced pitted watermelon
½ cup thinly sliced red onion
2 large fresh kalimirn or other figs with green skin and stalks
2 large fresh brown turkey figs, black mission or striped tiger figs without legs
1 ounce chopped feta cheese (about 1/4 cup)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
¼ teaspoon coarse sea salt
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
To make
Balsamic glaze is a syrup made from concentrated, boiled, sweetened balsamic vinegar; it gives this refreshing salad its sweetness and piquancy. Look for it next to vinegar.
Place the watermelon on a serving platter; sprinkle the onion evenly on top.Cut the figs in half lengthwise; place the figs on a platter; sprinkle with cheese.Mix the butter, juice and honey, stirring with a whisk. Drizzle over the salad; sprinkle with mint and basil. Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the salad; sprinkle evenly with salt and black pepper.
