Tortellini with Ham and Peas

1 pound fresh or frozen cheese tortellini
1 cup frozen peas
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, sliced
½ cup heavy cream
Salt and pepper
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
¼ pound sliced ham

These hearty tortellini dishes are easy to make for a weeknight dinner.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the tortellini until al dente (do not overcook), as indicated on the package. Add the peas to the pot during the last 30 seconds of cooking.Drain the tortellini and peas and return to the pan. Add the butter, cream, salt, pepper, parmesan and ham. Turn the stove to medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the ingredients are warmed through, 2-3 minutes. Serve immediately.
