Unicorn Poop Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
½ cup softened butter
½ cup shortening
3 ½ tablespoons softened cream cheese
½ teaspoon salt
1 whole egg
½ teaspoon almond extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
Food coloring (as many different colors as you want the cookies to turn out!)
Silver candy balls (optional)
Food topping (optional)
Shiny Gel
Edible glitter

To make

Shiny, rainbow cookies!
Shade for coloring the doughDo this before cooling the dough, so as not to cancel the cooling process due to the heat of your body.Wrap each batch of dough in separate plastic bags and paint the dough in different colors (see instructions for tinting the dough). Below).Cool the tinted dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour or in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.Divide each chilled dough ball into 8 equal parts.Take one piece of dough of each color (leave the rest in the refrigerator for the cooking time) and roll it out on the countertop in the form of a string or snake. If you use a sheet of waxed paper on the countertop, you won't have to add flour.Roll out the string shape to about 6 inches long. Keep rolling out all the colors and putting them in a stack. Gently press the strings together and roll out a large multi-colored "string" on the countertop to round and smooth it out and extend it to 10-12 inches if desired.Cut the multi-colored" string " into two parts, roll out both ends of the string with both hands in different directions to gently twist it.Wind the rope in the shape of poop using your imagination as to what you think unicorn poop should look likePress some silver candy balls (dragees) into the dough pieces for decoration, if desired. Place the dough on a greased cookie sheet (or one that is covered with parchment or a silicone mat) and bake at 375 F for 8-10 minutes, until the cookies are set and the bottoms are light brown, they will not spread much.Cool on a wire rack.Brush with glitter gel and / or edible glitter to give them shine, and add a little sprinkle to the still-wet gel for more texture. Allow the cookies to dry completely before laying.Take a large piece of plastic wrap (to protect your hands and table from the dye) and place a cookie dough ball in the middle.Make an indentation in the center with your thumb.Add the food coloring to the mold, and then spread the dough on top of the dye.Wrap it in plastic wrap and start kneading the food coloring into the dough. This may take some time, and you may find that you need more food coloring (Hint: the colored cookie dough turns out lighter than when you first colored the dough, once you get the right shade, add more).
